I also like to create oil paintings, large scale oil paintings, murals, pen and pencil drawing, pastels, prints, etc…. originals and commission projects. I have my own matting and framing equipment as well. Oil Painting in public is something I also enjoy doing.
Rural Life in Central Minnesota in the early 20th. Century. The Farmer and his draft horses are pulling a Galloway manure spreader. These mail order implements were made in Waterloo Iowa by the William Galloway Company starting in 1905. Notice how the corn was planted in much wider rows in the old days.
A client contacted me and said, “Can you make a small oil painting I can give my husband for Christmas? His favorite hunting dog ‘Molly’ has just passed away. This photo was taken after the oil painting was varnished about a year after it was completed. So that is why it is kind of “shiny”. It is very important to wait a while for oils to dry. Only then should you varnish them, or they will prematurely crack.
